What looks like a beef burger, smells like a beef burger, feels like a beef burger and even tastes like a beef burger, but isn't a beef burger?
You guessed it right: Burger King's new Veggie Whopper - a vegetable patty grilled on the grill, which comes in a bun with vegetables just like the regular Whopper.
The dish was developed by the Israeli foodtech company Meat.
The End, and will soon be offered in all Burger King branches at the same price as the corresponding animal products, as a single item (NIS 29) or as part of a meal with a side dish and drink (NIS 48).
We were surprised!

And how does it taste?
Three hungry testers on our behalf who sampled the new sandwich, one gourmet vegetarian lady and a couple of fast food loving omnivores, decided that the vegan waffle was a real rip-off, as it was very difficult to distinguish between the regular meat waffle and Meat's.
The End.
So it's true that the vegan patty was smeared with sauces, surrounded by vegetables and rested between two slices of bun that helped mask the taste, but it passed the test of the result with flying colours, and that's what's important.
In addition to the Wafer, Burger King is also launching the Veggie Nuggets - crispy plant-based bites that go great with sweet chili sauce and barbecue sauce (6 units will cost you 22 NIS, 9 units - 30 NIS, 12 units - 36 NIS).
They were indeed crispy and quite reasonable, but in their case - unlike the hamburger - it was clear that it was a vegetable substitute and not a chicken product, so we didn't eat them all the way, certainly not like the excellent Wafer.
You can't miss that it's a substitute for meat.

Either way, both products will be sold exclusively in Israel at this stage, as a sort of pilot.
To celebrate the occasion, just before Vegan Day on November 1, Burger King's Dizengoff Center branch in Tel Aviv became the chain's first vegan pop-up in Israel.
Until October 30, the branch will serve only vegan dishes, and in addition to the new waffles and nuggets, you can also enjoy fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and toffee-caramel roll and apple-cinnamon roll desserts.
Come, it will be green.
Starting October 31, after the closure of the pop-up store in Tel Aviv, the new vegan dishes will be available in all Burger King branches throughout the country.
