The EELV mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet wrote to President Macron on Monday to demand the "
immediate dissolution
" of the "
Remparts
", a structure heir to the dissolved far-right association "
Génération identitaire
" after a rally in memory of Lola marked by xenophobic slogans.
In this letter sent to AFP, the mayor deplores "
an unacceptable resurgence
" of acts of violence claimed by the far right since September and affirms his "
firm desire to act
" against "
those who incite hatred and demonstrate violent and anti-republican behavior
”.
The elected official denounces in particular the "
political recovery
" of the murder of Lola, with a demonstration which gathered 100 to 150 people Friday evening in the center of Lyon, according to the prefecture.

According to Mr. Doucet, this demonstration was claimed by an activist identifying himself on social networks as part of "
Remparts Lyon
".
His letter underlines the links of this structure with Génération identitaire, an ultra-right movement pleading for the "
defense
" of European identity dissolved in March 2021. Videos on social networks, in particular on the Twitter account of "
Remparts
“, show hooded people shouting “
immigrant murderers
”, with a banner “
Justice for Lola, immigration kills
”.
Explaining that he had already alerted the Ministers of the Interior Gérald Darmanin and of Justice Éric Dupond-Moretti, Grégory Doucet called for "
the immediate dissolution of the Remparts
".
He also calls for "
definitively closing
" the associative bar "
La Traboule
" known as a stronghold of those nostalgic for Identity Generation and the sports hall "
L'Agogé
" which presents itself as "
the first identity sports hall in France
".
Contacted by AFP, the Rhône prefecture said it was "
extremely vigilant about the activities of small groups
" on the far right.
The prefect of the Rhône also made a report to the prosecutor of Lyon concerning "
the xenophobic and hateful
remarks" made during the undeclared demonstration on Friday, according to the same source.
Generation Z Lyon, the Lyon section of Eric Zemmour's movement, also tweeted, with the hashtag #francocide, a photo of this demonstration, with a sign entitled "
The State no longer protects our children, wake up!
