A former senior Parisian police official was sentenced Tuesday, October 24 to six months in prison suspended and 5000 euros fine by the Paris Criminal Court for "
violation of professional secrecy
" and "
concealment
of abuse of social good" .
The confiscation of a Mini Cooper vehicle as well as the return of a Rolex watch and cash were also ordered by the court.
Former comptroller general, Jean-Yves Adam, 70, was on the other hand released from the acts of influence peddling which he was accused of.
"Misuse of corporate assets"
In its requisitions, on September 7, the public prosecutor had demanded a one-year suspended prison sentence and a 10,000 euro fine against Jean-Yves Adam.
His lawyer had pleaded for the release of all lawsuits.
The former civil servant was notably prosecuted for having bought a car and financed several trips by drawing on funds made available by the company of Daniel S., which sponsored car races in which Jean-Yves Adam participated as a driver.
Jean-Yves Adam also appeared for having searched for information in a police file on behalf of three business leaders, Christian S., François R. and Éric L.

He was also suspected of having taken favorable decisions for the benefit of many merchants in the Parisian market in exchange for gifts: invitation to private parties, concerts, cases of champagne, etc.
Found guilty of "
misuse of corporate assets
", Daniel S. was sentenced on Tuesday to a three-month suspended prison sentence.
Two of the three business leaders involved, Christian S. and François R., were ordered to pay a fine of 500 euros for “
complicity in breaches of professional secrecy
”.
Also prosecuted, Éric L. was acquitted by the court.
