The health awareness symposium hosted by the headquarters of the Al-Hasakah Workers Union focused on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, encouraging women to go to health centers, conducting periodic examinations and providing them with periodic self-examination experiences.
The symposium, which was held in cooperation between the Al-Hasakah Health Directorate and the Working Women’s Committee in the Workers’ Union in the governorate, during which the reproductive health program coordinator in the Directorate of Health, Dr. Samar Al-Mushrif, presented ways of prevention to maintain a good health condition that protects women from breast cancer, the most important of which is eating a lot of vegetables and fruits. Regular exercise, breastfeeding, not taking hormonal drugs, and the need to visit health centers at least twice a year for a periodic examination.
For her part, the specialist gynecologist and surgeon Dr. Waad Al-Khidr stressed the need for women to know the methods of self-examination of the breast, the importance of early detection and early treatment of the infection, and to review the health centers in the event of any changes in appearance or color, and the enlargement of the lymph nodes under the arm above or below the collarbone .
For his part, the Director of Al-Hasakah Health Dr. Issa Khalaf confirmed the continuation of awareness programs to reach the largest possible number of women and girls with the aim of educating them about the necessity of conducting examinations and early detection of breast cancer, calling on participants to disseminate information among women and girls and make them aware of self-monitoring and not hesitate to visit health centers for detection. early injury.
