Climate activists are currently blocking streets at Odeonsplatz.
They call for an “immediate decarbonization of the transport sector”.
The police are already there.
Munich – Another action by climate activists in Munich causes chaos.
Only on Tuesday did activists devastate the BlackRock building, and the police went on a large-scale operation.
Now people from the "Scientist Rebellion" protest group are blocking a street on Odeonsplatz, "a main thoroughfare in the city with luxury car dealerships like Maserati and Mercedes," according to a report by the activists.
Anyone who is familiar with Munich knows that "main traffic artery" doesn't quite fit, since the street ends in a one-way street.
The police are currently "with a larger number of emergency services" on site, as a press spokesman said when asked by Merkur.
Climate activists stick to Odeonsplatz: "Traffic disruption is limited"
"According to the current status, the activists have stuck to the street," said the spokesman.
"We are in the process of clarifying how further measures will be taken." Traffic will be diverted, so the traffic disruption is limited.
In a statement from the activists, they justify their actions.
"
We are here to support the last generation people who are blocking streets in Berlin right now.
We are disrupting the public and disrupting everyday life because climate collapse is being ignored,"
Fernando Rojas, a telecommunications engineer, was quoted as saying by Scientist Rebellion.
