Preparing and qualifying human cadres in the fields of technical sciences, linking education with training, developing the concept of work in general, and consolidating the spirit of teamwork among its students. These are main objectives that are reinforced by the Legal Technical Institute, which provides appropriate scientific outputs to enter the field of work.

The institute, which has graduated from its establishment in 2013 to date, has 114 students and contains several classrooms, a computer lab for practical training, in addition to a library containing many books and legal references.

Regarding the mechanism of joining the institute, its director, Iyad Moussa, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that successful students in the general secondary certificate in its scientific and literary branches have the right to apply to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and study in it for two consecutive years, indicating that the institute is committed to appointing 5% of its graduates according to Law No. 18 of 2019.

According to Moussa, during his theoretical and practical studies in the legal and administrative fields, the student acquires knowledge and experience that qualifies him to work in legal matters as a legal assistant “registration clerk,” or a technical member of the legal departments of ministries, institutions and public bodies, explaining that the appointment of the institute’s certificate holders is according to a competition announced by the Ministry of Justice. or any public or private entity.

Moussa pointed out that the institute follows an educational plan and specific courses for each academic year, both theoretical and practical, for the legal subjects of the school, starting from the entrance to the science of law, constitutional, administrative and civil law, general penal law, personal status, civil and criminal trial procedures, and public administration for the first year, and in the second year the student continues his studies. Laws of judicial administration, special penal legislation, law of juvenile delinquents, criminology and punishment, notary laws, administration of state cases, real estate legislation, forensic medicine and victimology.

Moussa explained that the Arabic and English languages ​​are taught, in addition to informatics and the mechanism of automating judicial and administrative work in both academic years, stressing the necessity of working hours and the need to achieve a percentage of not less than 75 percent for each subject so that the student is not deprived of applying for the exam in the subject in case he does not achieve the mentioned percentage.

With regard to practical training, Moussa stated that the student is subjected to a summer practical training in each academic year, according to a systematic work plan in all justices;

This is to indicate the extent of the skills acquired by the student during the training period to which he is subject.

Moussa pointed out that the graduate from the Legal Technical Institute obtains a technical diploma and a certificate of graduation, and the first graduate has the right to complete his education at the Faculty of Law at Damascus University, and the rest of the graduates may continue their university studies to obtain a law degree in open education or private universities.

First-year student Mirta Rajha considered that entering the institute is the first step to achieving her dream and studying law at the university in the coming years, while both student Ahmed Haj Khalil and student Noor Muhammad of the second year indicated that the institute gained them knowledge experience in the first year by studying legal materials and legislation. At the hands of distinguished teaching staff and professors, emphasizing their goal of graduating from the institute and entering the Faculty of Law.

It is noteworthy that the Legal Technical Institute was created according to the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education “Supreme Council for Technical Education” No. 14 and m on August 12, 2013, and its headquarters is in Damascus, and it is affiliated to the Ministry of Justice, and the assistant minister concerned is supervising it.
