Will it become the government's favorite weapon?
Elisabeth Borne once again brandished 49.3, this Wednesday evening at the National Assembly, to have "the entire Social Security financing bill" adopted, a few hours after Emmanuel Macron's interview on France 2. "All the opposition groups had let us know that they would not vote for the final text", justified the Prime Minister.
“Today, 1,160 amendments remain to be examined.
At the rate at which the work is going, we would need more than 80 hours of debate to complete the examination of the text, apart from we are coming to the end of the timetable that you have established for this discussion", explained Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
“We need a Social Security budget: also, on the basis of article 49 paragraph 3 of the Constitution, I engage the responsibility of my government on the fourth part and on the whole of the bill funding from Social Security.

This new 49.3 – the third in a week, the first having been activated last Wednesday – was expected.

The RN had filed only one.
The deputies now have 48 hours to table a motion of censure, which must be signed by 58 parliamentarians to be accepted.
If it is, then there will have to be a debate in the National Assembly before a vote is taken.
If this is passed, then the government should resign.
This has never happened since 1958.
