Schwabhausen is currently difficult to reach in terms of traffic from the north and east.

On the one hand, the Arnbacher Straße is completely closed, on the other hand, the intersection at the so-called Indersdorfer Gabel will also soon be completely closed.

Schwabhausen – The construction of the traffic light system at the Indersdorfer Gabel started at the beginning of October.

Since then, State Road 2050 from the direction of Indersdorf has been completely closed to traffic in both directions in the area between the roundabout at Rumeltshausen and the junction with State Road 2047.

Now, however, the junction area of the Indersdorfer Gabel is completely closed to traffic due to the construction work, as Mayor Wolfgang Hörl announced at the municipal council meeting.

This was announced by the Freising State Building Authority.

St 2047 will be completely blocked

So far, traffic on State Road 2047 has not been affected by the closure.

In the immediate area of the construction site, however, the lane is narrow and the speed is limited to 30 km/h.

During the milling work and the asphalt paving, however, the St 2047 must now also be completely closed to traffic.

This work is expected to begin on November 7th and will take two weeks, as the state building authority announced yesterday when asked.

The signposted diversion route from Dachau in the direction of Indersdorf currently leads via the St 2047 to Stetten and from there on the DAH 10 district road to the roundabout with the St 2050. The diversion route applies to both directions of travel.

The bike lanes will not be affected by the construction work.

Only a traffic light can help

Accidents at the Indersdorfer Gabel have happened again and again in the past.

Classic traffic law measures such as a speed limit of 60 km/h, bishop's hats, a stop sign and a priority sign for people turning left from Stetten would unfortunately not have been enough to reduce the number of traffic accidents in the long term.

A report commissioned by the Freising State Building Authority came to the conclusion that a traffic light would be the quickest way to make the Indersdorfer Gabel safer for all road users.

It does not require any major structural changes at the intersection and is sufficiently efficient even with the traffic volume forecast for the next few years.

Full lockdown lasts three more weeks

Arnbacher Strasse in Schwabhausen is still completely closed as part of the construction work to re-lay the water pipe in this area.

"The full closure is expected to last another three weeks," the community leader informed the community council on Tuesday evening.

Overturned several times

The official diversion leads via Oberroth, Großberghofen, Erdweg and Arnbach

The official diversion leads via Oberroth, Großberghofen, Erdweg and Arnbach.

But not all drivers use them.

Those who are familiar with the area use the Bergstraße and Römerstraße as secret routes, which naturally leads to unusual traffic congestion for residents there.

Markus Arnold (CSU), for example, spoke of a "great annoyance for residents" and described daily traffic chaos.

However, he had to be told by Mayor Wolfgang Hörl that Bergstrasse and Römerstrasse are roads that motorists are allowed to drive on: "I ask the residents for their understanding, but that cannot be avoided.

These are publicly dedicated roads!”

Signage should be improved

After all, it is your turn to improve the detour signage, which was previously inadequate, as municipal councilor Sven von Kummer from the Arnbach citizens' block noted.

"The signage was originally agreed differently with the construction company and is now being improved," Hörl explained.

This should, for example, inform drivers of the detour in Arnbach.
