These are hours of anguish and apprehension in Asso, in the Como area, for the lieutenant Doriano Furceri, who was wounded by gunshots fired by a brigadier on duty in the same barracks, Antonio Milia, fifty years old.

The man then barricaded himself in the station which was surrounded by the military and also by special forces.

Some witnesses heard him exclaim: "I killed him" but there is no official confirmation of the lieutenant's death.

At least three shots fired towards the non-commissioned officer: who was in the barracks at that moment distinctly heard a shot, then the groans of the wounded man and then at least two more shots.

The brigadier has barricaded himself in a room inside the building, of a modern type, built about thirty years ago, and since that moment,

it was not possible for anyone to ascertain the lieutenant's conditions.

The special departments of the Arma then arrived around the Asso barracks, ready to intervene, with bulletproof vests and their state-of-the-art equipment.

Of the brigadier, who had been serving in the town of Como for several years, it is known that he was hospitalized in the psychiatry ward of the Sant'Anna hospital in Como, discharged and recovered for several months.

Judged suitable for service by a Hospital Medical Commission, again according to what was known, he had returned to service for a few days and was currently on vacation.

Lieutenant Furceri, on the other hand, had been transferred to Asso in February, after 17 years spent as commander of the Bellano station, on Lake Como but in the province of Lecco.

The transfer was ordered after the non-commissioned officer had been subjected to insults and accusations with anonymous writing on the walls of the town since December last year.

The writings denounced an alleged love affair of the commander with more than one married woman, with their respective husbands ready to go to de facto ways.

Another writing instead denounced an irregular working situation for the commander's wife.

The provincial command of Lecco had explained that "the facts concerning the commander of the Bellano station are being examined by the judicial authorities and are also the subject of an independent investigation launched by the Carabinieri to establish the outlines of the affair and also to assess the existence or not of the requirements for the permanence of the military
