A lifeless body was found this Thursday near the home of Lucas L., suspected of having killed Justine Vayrac, announced several sources familiar with the matter.
The young woman had not been seen since Sunday morning, around 4 a.m., near the “La Charrette” nightclub in Brive-la-Gaillarde where she had spent the evening.
“A body was found in the search area, which may correspond to the missing victim.
Formal identification is not officially acquired,” said one of the two sources.
“It was indeed an area close to the home of the respondent”.
On Tuesday, a man was taken into custody as part of an investigation for kidnapping and forcible confinement, the public prosecutor said.
This man, Lucas L., "would be a friendly acquaintance met a few times in the nightclub".
He admitted at the end of his police custody to have killed the young woman.
During searches, traces of blood had been detected at the home of this young 21-year-old agricultural worker, in his room but also in his vehicle, at the level of the gear lever knob, the prosecutor of the Republic of Brive indicated on Wednesday. Émilie Abrantes, while DNA analyzes were in progress.
Justine Vayrac's handbag, containing personal effects, had also been "discovered charred near the home of the person in custody, outside", had also specified the magistrate.
