An indictment was filed against two minors recently at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on suspicion of breaking into three synagogues in the Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood in Jerusalem, two of the cases occurred during Yom Kippur.
The details of the cases were discovered during an investigation by police investigators at the Sheft station in the Jerusalem district.
According to the suspicion, the two suspects caused damage to the synagogues and stole large sums of money.
The indictment, filed by the prosecution unit of the police in the district, states that in one of the cases, the defendants arrived late at night at the Chabad synagogue on Sixteenth Street in Jerusalem. One of them took a stone and slammed it about three times against the glass door, breaking it. After that, the two suspects entered to the synagogue and broke the charity box with the same stone and one of them took cash from it.
The second charge refers to an incident that took place on Yom Kippur late at night, during which the two defendants broke into the "Beit Ya'akov" synagogue on Sierat Golani Street in Jerusalem.
One of them opened the charity box with a knife and took money from it.
In the third incident, also during Yom Kippur, one of the accused arrived at a synagogue in a Chabad house on Moshe Dayan Street in the city and took money from the place.
The investigation officer of the Sheft Station stated: "The Sheft Station in the Jerusalem District invests many resources in dealing with crime and the perpetrators of crime.
