Food waste: do mass retailers really throw away "a lot"?

Going to the checkout to pay for your full shopping is becoming an increasingly difficult moment for the wallets of French households.

With inflation of 5.6% in September 2022, certain consumer products are particularly affected.

Pasta saw its average shelf price jump by around 20% in October over one year, and oil saw its label soar in comparable proportions.

Faced with these price increases and the precariousness of some households, the question of what happens to unsold food products is back in the news.

Invited this Wednesday on LCI, Michel-Edouard Leclerc, president of the strategic committee of the E. Leclerc centers, assured him: “
