"As if it had never existed": why is the season of "Star Academy" broadcast on NRJ12 despised by TF1?

2022-10-29T09:58:29.054Z

Winner in 2013 of the ninth edition of musical reality TV, Laurène Bourvon regrets that TF1 makes its promotion completely invisible. Explanations.

In the corridors and the various rooms of the castle of Vives-Eaux, photos dot here and there the walls of memories of previous editions of

"Star Academy"

.

Moments shared on stage live on TF1 have been immortalized on glossy paper in the same way as slices of life within the walls of Dammarie-les-Lys.

From Jenifer in 2001 to Mickels Réa in 2008, eight promotions are remembered in memory of newcomers.

On the stairs, eight huge red flags accompany residents from the ground floor to their apartments located upstairs: class 2001, class 2002, class 2003, class 2004, class 2005, class 2006, class 2007 and promo 2008 can we read in turn.

Only here, if TF1 broadcasts for the ninth time "Star Academy", Endemol France produces this year the tenth edition of its musical competition.

After being abandoned by the first channel, the format was recovered at the end of 2012 by NRJ12 with the broadcast of a season 9 hosted by Tonya Kinzinger and Matthieu Delormeau with the late Charlotte Valandrey as director.

Fourteen artists between the ages of 18 and 25 took part between December 13, 2012 and February 28, 2013 with, on arrival, the victory of

“When I hear about eight seasons of “Star Academy”, it hurts me”

, had confided the latter last June to our colleagues from

Parisian / Today in France

, a few days after the announcement of the big return of the show on TF1.

The fears of the 28-year-old Breton artist have been confirmed.

During our visit to the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys, the production had the greatest difficulty in justifying the absence of memories relating to season 9.

"It did not take place in the same place"

, we were told. we first answered, forgetting that the eighth edition of TF1 had taken place at the Hôtel Brossier, rue Charlot in Paris, and not in the Vives-Eaux area.

“It wasn't the same”

, we were finally told, for lack of a better argument.

On the set of "Daily", on October 14, when Yann Barthès wanted to know how many seasons were going to be broadcast, Nikos Aliagas had answered him:

"We don't count them anymore, we have reset the counter and we call it 'Star Academy 2022'"

“We have so many beautiful things to say about this show”

Laurene Bourvon and Louis Mevel

"It inevitably saddens us a little, for us, for our comrades and all the people from Endemol who worked on our season"

, told us Laurène Bourvon and Louis Mevel about this manifest contempt of TF1 for the edition of “Star Academy” broadcast on NRJ12.

“We have so many great things to say about this show and what came of it.

Since Laurène's victory, we haven't given up on anything, with ups and downs but always keeping in mind that the work would one day bear fruit.

For two years, our two projects LUNIS & Nito-Onna have never done so well.

We have a great audience, we are listened to by more than 4 million people on Spotify each month, we are platinum records and we have collaborated with Boulevard des Airs, Kikesa and Yoshi Masuda to name but a few.

And the starting point of all of this is our “Star Academy”, season 9.”

The Breton couple continues:

“Obviously we want to talk about it, like the show that will have introduced us to our audience, which will have made us grow.

And to see that we are trying to cancel it in the eyes of the public, as if it had never existed, inevitably it affects us

.

If they have not been contacted to make an appearance in this 2022 edition of "Star Academy", Laurène Bourvon and Louis Mevel do not despair.

“We are Breton and a little stubborn, so we met up with our production contacts at the time and sent a few messages, hoping for a positive return from them

,” they conclude with humor and optimism.
