Many Syrian writers excelled in the art of Khatra, including the writers Muhammad Al-Maghout, Zakaria Tamer, Nizar Qabbani and others. The Khatra is known to be the daughter of the article, born in the arms of the press, and is distinguished from the article as being short and concise, not exceeding one or two columns in the magazine or newspaper.
In the presence of a crowd of people interested in cultural affairs, the writer Dr. Qusay Al-Atassi reviewed in his lecture entitled “Thoughts that may please the mind” at the invitation of the branch of the Historical Scientific Society in Homs in the archaeological hall of the Cathedral of the Forty Martyrs of the Greek Orthodox, a number of thoughts that he had published in a number of Syrian newspapers since Years ago, including “To More Clarity,” “Defending the Book,” “The Difficult Equation, Asking Urgently,” and “The Director of the Hand and the Orcs.”
It is noteworthy that the writer al-Atassi was born in Homs in 1931. He obtained a license in the Arabic language in 1954, then a diploma in educational qualification and a doctorate in translation from the University of Geneva. He translated a number of books.
