120 people were killed and 100 injured today in a stampede at Halloween celebrations in the South Korean capital, Seoul.
"120 people died and 100 others suffocated in the Itaewon district in the center of the capital during the Halloween celebrations," Choi Seung-bum, head of the Yongsan Fire Station, was quoted by AFP as saying.
Choi added that the accident occurred after thousands of people gathered in the narrow streets of the aforementioned neighborhood to celebrate, noting that the number of casualties could rise.
