The Bavarian Journalists' Association and the Verdi trade union have called editors and freelance journalists to a 24-hour warning strike this Wednesday.

The BR is trying to keep the effects on the program as low as possible, the public broadcaster announced on Tuesday in Munich.

Nevertheless, there could be impairments in the process or temporary transmission failures.

Bavarian radio:

The unions are demanding an increase of six percent in salaries, fees and fees.

So far, the station is offering 1.9 percent more on October 1st and in a second stage on April 1st next year another 2.0 percent more.

In addition, there would be a one-time payment for the months of April to September of this year.

BR Administrative Director Albert Frenzel emphasized that the broadcaster must base its offer on a pure cost-of-living adjustment.

The reason he gave was the radio fee, which had not increased since 2009.

The aim is to avert further downsizing of the program and employment.

There were already warning strikes at individual ARD stations in this tariff round.

Among other things, there were impairments in the ARD “Morgenmagazin” produced by WDR.

Also for this Wednesday, the unions have called for further actions at several institutions.
