Hot, hot, boiling: "We will see discounts here that we didn't know about during the upcoming shopping holidays" | Israel today

Get ready to load up: Black Friday is already on its way, consumers are getting ready for the online shopping frenzy of November - and there are reasons to be optimistic • "Because of the stocks sitting in the warehouses, the big companies are very desperate to sell"

Prepare your wallets again: the popular shopping holidays will begin this November, and the most popular is of course - Black Friday.

These holidays take place after Amazon's "Prime Day" sales, which took place on October 11-12.

Are this year's sales expected to be attractive, against the background of price increases in the world?

Some think so.

Yaniv Kotter, one of the owners of the "Dilts" shipping company, which provides an address to Israelis in the US, tells "Israel Hayom": "Sales began on Amazon's Prime Day, which was held for the second time this year in October, after the first sale last July.

The previous Prime Day wasn't a hit, but this one was a global disaster.

It started with the fact that a year or two ago, many goods got stuck in the destination ports because they did not unload containers.

The goods did not arrive on time, and there were many shortages during the corona.

Slowly it was released in the last months.

"In the US we are seeing a trend of inventory sitting in company warehouses and not being sold.

These inventories are not sold because of inflation, and that prices have risen.

Also, the inventory is too large, and people are averse to big purchases like stereos and large furniture.

The inventory of goods in US stores now stands at $732 billion, which is a record. This includes computers, clothing, furniture and all consumer products."

Cut prices

Kotter adds and says: "We see that Nike, Nine West, Old Navy, Best Buy, Walmart, Home Depot and all the major players in the US are cutting prices.

They run promotions not only on certain items and certain categories, but on the entire store, and that's what makes it attractive to shop at places that aren't Amazon."

Regarding the attractiveness of the November holidays, Kotter says: "I think that Black Friday is the last chance for retailers to bombard their strongest sales. Amazon saw that their sales dropped by 20% compared to their beautiful sales on Prime Day, so they will do their thinking and give a blow Very good for consumers on Black Friday."

He adds: "Halloween will be at the end of the month, then November will have all the discounts. Retailers won't wait for Black Friday to offer the best discounts. They will start before, so people buy the gifts first. They know that every family has a budget for gifts. This year, because of the inventory sitting in warehouses that have insurance costs on them, the retailers are more desperate to get rid of this inventory. This is an all-time high."
