In the Geretsried indoor pool, the water is two degrees colder to save energy.

Elsewhere there is already a reverse role because there are fewer guests.

Geretsried – The water temperature is higher again in the Erdinger indoor pool.

In other places, too, the operators are struggling with the recommendation of the German Society for Bathing and Swimming to make a contribution to saving energy with two degrees less in the pool.

This leads to a decrease in visitor numbers and thus lower income.

Geretsried: Water two degrees colder – visitors still come

City hall spokesman Thomas Loibl cannot confirm this development for the intermunicipal indoor swimming pool in Geretsried.

"We are not noticing any drop in visitor numbers," he says when asked by our newspaper.

In this respect, the water temperatures, which have been lower since the beginning of the new school year, are maintained.

The thermometer measures 26 degrees in the swimmers' and jumpers' pool, 30 degrees in the teaching pool and 31 degrees in the children's pool.

The staff sometimes observe that bathers who are not competitive swimmers stay shorter in the large pool.

Nevertheless: "We can make a contribution in times of energy shortages with minor and justifiable restrictions," emphasizes Loibl.

It is impossible to foresee how high the savings are due to the lower water temperature in the Geretsried indoor pool.

"We don't yet have the relevant experience," says Loibl.

However, the German Society for Bathing speaks of up to 25 percent.

Mayor recommends play of colors on bubble loungers in winter

City hall chief Michael Müller recently used the citizens' meeting to advertise the indoor swimming pool that opened a year ago.

The reduced temperatures in the pools shouldn't detract from the fun of bathing.

The mayor's tip: "When it's already dark in the evening, the color spectrum on the Blubber loungers comes into its own."

During the autumn holidays, the indoor pool is open until 8 p.m. every evening.

Between Saturday, October 29th and Sunday, November 6th, you can swim from 9 a.m.

On Monday, October 31, and Thursday, November 3, the pool opens at 6 a.m.

After the holidays, the usual opening times apply again.

On the Day of Repentance and Prayer, Wednesday, November 16, public bathing will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you have tickets for the former indoor pool on Jahnstraße in your drawer, you can exchange them in the town hall for the non-inflation-adjusted purchase price until December 30th.

The old tickets will lose their validity on January 1, 2023.
