Lattakia, SANA- The fourth Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Musical Forum concluded today with a musical evening at Dar Al-Assad Theater for Culture.

Today, the fourth Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Music Forum concluded with a musical evening at Dar Al-Assad Theater for Culture in Lattakia, entitled Anthology of World Music, presented by a group of students who won local and international awards from the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Institute of Music.

Wadih Nahal and Zina Safkouni on piano, Gad Ibrahim on violin, Taj Zahra on cello, and Nour Ihsan on the flute, musical talents who, despite their young age, achieved several awards in international and local competitions. Solo to a collection of music tracks by the world's top musicians.

The evening, which came under the supervision of professors Shatha Muhammad and Ziyad Abbas, was seen by Abbas, in a statement to SANA reporter, as “a reflection of the advanced level of the institute’s students and the real talents that deserve to be lit up and to the public.” The five, and the presentation of diverse musical styles and high performance that demonstrated the abilities of the students and the efforts of the professors alike.

The participating students expressed their happiness to be present at the closing ceremony of the forum, as Nahal, 15, the leader in the country and the winner of the first place in the Fifth Solhi Al-Wadi International Competition and the first prize in the International Competition for Musicians performing in 2021, saw that the ceremony is a tribute and encouragement to him and his colleagues at the Institute for diligence and achieving their ambitions .

Jad Ibrahim, a 15-year-old pioneer in the country with the violin and winner of the second place in the national competition in 2021, considered that the concert represents “an opportunity to show our passion for music and an incentive to keep us in a state of constant development.”

This was shared by 12-year-old Zeina Safkouni, the winner of the first place in the Fifth Solhi Al-Wadi Competition, who saw that being on stage today is an appreciation for the effort and passion provided by the students and an incentive to do the best.

The Institute’s Oriental Music Orchestra performed the evening of the fourth day, which was titled “Music from the East”, and it included various templates of oriental music from longa, dances, headphones and musical pieces for the great musicians of the East, in addition to sharing songs on a number of musical instruments.

The conductor of the orchestra and the supervisor of the ceremony, Mamdouh Adnawi, indicated that the evening showed the richness and diversity of oriental music, in addition to the presentation of a musical piece entitled “Sama’i Nahawand” composed by the musician Mahmoud Al-Ajjan, the owner of a diverse musical and intellectual heritage, who enriched the music library with many musical compositions and a musical piece entitled Longa Nahawand from Written by the music researcher Ziad Al-Ajjan.

Adnawi praised the work of the troupe, which includes 45 players on various musical instruments, and presents oriental music in an academic manner, especially with the students' closeness to this musical culture that belongs to their environment.

Since its establishment in 2013, the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Institute for Music has formed a musical incubator for talents in Lattakia that works on refining them academically and contributes to the preparation of musicians specialized in playing various musical instruments, solfege, and individual and group singing, which qualifies them to be capable of excellence and creativity.
