The scientific conference, which was held in the hall of the Cultural Center in Daraa, discussed the role of the educational sector in facing crises and problems, keeping pace with the movement of progress and modern technical development, and advancing the reality of scientific research.

The first session of the conference, which was organized by the Third College of Education at Damascus University, Daraa Branch, and the Directorate of Education in the governorate included a presentation of research and studies in several governorates, on modern trends in the management of educational institutions in times of crisis, methods of developing public secondary schools, and the role of educational administrations in providing requirements for the application of curricula. And the development of practical programs in the faculties of education in Syrian universities, the reality of classroom teachers’ performance, and the incentives for creativity in the university environment.

The two-day conference included an introductory video in Daraa Governorate and its educational institutions, and folkloric links from the Horan heritage presented by the School Theater Troupe.

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Abdul Hakim Hammad noted the importance of the conference as a true translation of cooperation and coordination between the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research, and to present an educational vision in accordance with the requirements of the twenty-first century, in order to serve the goals of education and to include a vision that is consistent with the current development and prepares the teacher for changing roles that meet the needs of Comprehensive development, moving from traditional methods to innovative and entrepreneurial ideas.

For his part, Dean of the College, Dr. Galal Mubarak, spoke about the need to build a generation armed with science and morals, capable of facing challenges by relying on educational institutions, stressing that the researchers participating in the conference seek to analyze the crises and difficulties experienced by our educational institutions, to adopt recommendations that contribute to the advancement of the educational and scientific reality.

The head of the Damascus University branch in Daraa, Dr. Nadim Al-Muhanna, considered that the conference is concerned with identifying problems, developing appropriate solutions to them, and addressing the logic of science and its applications, scientific research, and its innovations to confront new issues and the effects of war, and to address problems of a strategic nature.

In her turn, the Vice President of Damascus University for Open Education Affairs, Dr. Raghda Naisa, saw that the holding of the scientific conference is a serious initiative by the University of Damascus to present outputs that serve the education process, pointing out that the conference presents a number of challenges experienced by the educational sector, related to curricula, textbooks and teaching strategies, to present solutions to the institutions’ problems. educational.

The governor of Daraa, Eng. Louay Map, and the secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch in Daraa, Hussein al-Rifai, pointed to indicators of improvement in the reality of the work of educational and higher education institutions in the governorate, and the need to move towards a better future by overcoming the effects of the war on Syria, by carrying out educational work in coordination with international organizations and the community. the local.
