This is a survey that will confirm Marine Le Pen in the good mood she has displayed since the start of the school year.
According to Ifop (for the
JDD
), if the presidential match were replayed today, the National Rally candidate would reach 30% in the first round and 47% in the second, bringing her behind Emmanuel Macron from 16 to 6 dots.
This type of survey should be taken with caution: the poster is theoretical - no ballot is taking place this Sunday.
It is also not predictive, since the next match will be played without the current host of the Élysée.
The political significance is real, however.
Ifop had already done the exercise in 2012 and 2017. Each time, the two finalists appeared stronger in the first round than they had been.
But never had the movement been so strong.
Marine Le Pen would do almost 7 points better than in April.
