The Lattakia Institutes Troupe presented this evening a theatrical performance entitled “House on the Borders” by Polish writer Slavomir Mrojic and director Kamal Fadda, as part of the 27th University Theater Festival held by the National Union of Syrian Students.

The show, which was presented on the stage of the Palace of Culture in Homs, and whose body was 15 actors and actresses, spoke of the life of an ordinary family being turned upside down when a group of diplomats stormed their house, telling them that the international border would pass from their house and divide it in half, so that the family lived after a set of paradoxes that destroyed its security and stability. and her life.

The director of the work, Fadda, told SANA reporter: This is my first directing work, and it is also the first theatrical experience for all the participating youth, as we have taken it upon ourselves to have an artistic and cultural imprint at the University Theater Festival, which expresses us and our ambitions, and paves the way for us to continue.

In turn, the actor Laith Laiqa, who played the role of the owner of the house, showed that working in the theater requires effort and fatigue to reach important artistic results. We young people find in the theater an opportunity to express our selves and our dreams.

Actress Nour Al-Mustafa, who played the role of a journalist, found that theater is a wide space for young people to present their messages, innovate and highlight their creative energies, pointing to the great interest that the National Union of Syrian Students attaches to preparing young people and actors capable of their tools through courses for preparing actors, directors and playwrights.

Omar Al-Jabai, member of the Executive Office and Head of the Culture and Arts Office in the National Union of Students, pointed out that the festival for amateur students, where we find a disparity in roles and performance for several factors, including the presentation of some actors and directors in the youth student theater work, and the joining of new blood to theatrical work, and this is vital and natural Which is what we seek in the National Union of Syrian Students, to create an important civilized, cultural and artistic situation that serves the cultural project as well as the scientific one.
