Landsberg – The Landsberger “Aufstiegs-Express”, which initially raced so confidently through the Bayern soccer league, has started to stutter.

The "monster series" of twelve games without defeats was followed by two 1-2 bankruptcies in a row: last week on their own pitch against FC Ismaning, on Saturday at the second from third division club FC Ingolstadt.

This has bitter consequences: The team of the player-coach duo Sascha Mölders/Mike Hutterer, which was top of the table for six rounds, slipped to third place in the last preliminary round behind autumn champions SV Schalding-Heining (2-0 at FC Deisenhofen) and Ingolstadt - a lead at the top of the table quickly turned into a seven-point deficit on the consistently winning regional league relegated from Lower Bavaria (seventh win in a row).

The Landsbergers no longer have first place (and thus direct promotion) in their own hands.

Only 2nd place - but that means: relegation against a regional league basement child.

Lucky for TSV Landsberg that the pursuers dropped points.

Kirchanschöring only played 3:3 at Türkspor Augsburg and Memmingen lost 1:3 on their own ground against Gundelfingen - if the regional league relegated team had won, Landsberg would have dropped back to fourth place.

Hutterer: "Everyone played for us - just not us...".

The game on the Ingolstadt artificial turf was almost a 1-1 duplicate of the Ismaning defeat.

Again Timo Spennesberger (this time with a penalty) put the Landsbergers in the lead, again the winning goal came shortly before the end, again "goal guarantee" Sascha Mölders went empty (for the third time in a row).

“Of course, this defeat is annoying, but not a broken leg.

Ingolstadt is a young, strong and agile team, against which you can sometimes lose.

The 2-1 draw against Ismaning still annoys me a lot more,” says Hutterer.

The "Jung-Schanzer", the strongest team in the league at home, had more of a share of the game over long stretches, but - just like the guests - didn't have any great chances to score on their artificial turf pitch, which was unfamiliar to the people of Lechstadt.

Then a “penalty kick out of nowhere”, as FCI trainer Alex Käs puts it.

Mölders was fouled, "Spenne" made it 1-0 with his fourth goal of the season (51st).

Hutterer: "We have to bring this lead over time."

But the Landsbergers just don't manage to keep a clean sheet this season (except for once, in a 2-0 win in Nördlingen).

The 64th minute: After a quick free kick, David Udogu equalizes with a left.

Then the 86th minute: After a "chain of errors", triggered by Maxi Holdenrieder's unnecessary pass into the middle, and "a few slapstick interludes" (Hutterer), Jonas Perconti, who had just come on as a substitute, hit the ball with the "pike" (toe tip). to the winning goal in the net.

From the TSV dream of the point at the competitor!

And a botched conclusion of a strong preliminary round.

Hutterer doesn't want to know anything about that: "We scored 34 points in 17 games, that's an average of two points per game.

Anyone would have signed that before the season.

If we get 34 points again in the second half of the season, we will certainly reach our goal for the season, first or second place.” But he admits: “Seven points ahead is a nice goal.

Nobody would have expected Schalding-Heining to march like this.”

The second half of the season begins for the Mölders/Hutterer squad on Friday: At 7:30 p.m., VfB Hallbergmoos, penultimate in the table, will play the first of four games before the winter break.

"A floodlit game is really cool," says Hutterer happily.

But the player-coach also knows: “It will be a difficult task again.

For Hallbergmoos it's about everything.

They only scored eight points and were rated higher before the season started.” VfB also has something to make up for: Landsberg won the first leg 2-1 – with goals in the 89th and 90th minute…
