The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, maintains that democracy in the country was not obtained thanks to the National Electoral Institute (INE) while he continues to seek votes in Congress to promote his electoral reform.
For its part, the INE published a statement defending its work and assured that it complies with constitutional responsibilities and guarantees democracy, in response to the recommendation issued by the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) that calls on Congress to transform the body electoral.
