The keys to the meeting between Antony Blinken and Gustavo Petro 4:14
(CNN Spanish) --
The presidents of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, will meet this Tuesday in Caracas.
In a statement, the Colombian Presidency reported Monday that Petro will travel to the Venezuelan capital to hold a lunch with his counterpart.
What is the "total peace" that Petro proposes and which armed groups have shown interest in accepting it?
The issues that will be discussed will be the bilateral relationship between both countries, the reopening of borders and the re-entry of Venezuela to the inter-American human rights system.
"The meeting is part of President Gustavo Petro's leadership to boost the region's economy and socialize his agenda in favor of the interests of the Latin American bloc and the protection of the Amazon, and as part of the preliminary meetings for COP 27," noted the official note.
