Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the Sochi summit that brought him together with the Azerbaijani President and the Armenian Prime Minister was beneficial and created a positive atmosphere for future agreements.
Russia Today quoted Putin as saying that during this summit, the atmosphere was prepared for future agreements, noting that the meeting leaders agreed on a joint statement on the Nagorno-Karabakh region, where the summit showed that everyone is interested in normalizing relations.
Putin had confirmed earlier today that the goal of the tripartite summit between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia is to implement all agreements related to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that were reached in 2020 and 2021.
On November 9, 2020, under the auspices of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan reached a ceasefire agreement that ended a conflict between Baku and Yerevan in the Nagorno-Karabakh region that lasted about a month and a half, while the border areas witness intermittent skirmishes and clashes between the two sides.
