Amid an enthusiastic and competitive atmosphere in Al-Assad Sports Hall in Lattakia, the third phase of the Syrian Karate Premier League for the age groups under 12, 14, 16, 18 and over 18 for males and females concluded in kata, individual and group fighting.
The closing ceremony was marked by a remarkable organization that carried the specifications of the world championships in the hall, which was decorated by a large crowd of fans and the players' families, and the President of the Syrian Olympic Committee Firas Mualla, which increased the fights with excitement, strength and incentive to present the high technical level of most of the players.
In the general ranking of the U-12 category, the Army came first with three golds, two silvers and five bronzes, followed by Aleppo Police with three golds, a silver and two bronzes, then the Martyr Basil Al-Assad Club with two golds, a silver and nine bronzes.
In the under 14 years category, Al Arabi came first with four golds, two silvers and two bronzes, then the Army with three golds, four silvers and six bronzes, then Nassib with two golds and a silver.
The Army achieved first place in the under-16 category with five golds, five silvers and two bronzes, followed by the Latakia Youth with two gold, one silver and one bronze, then Jaramana with two golds.
In the under-18 category, Al-Arabi ranked first with two gold, four silver and two bronze, followed by the Latakia Youth with two gold, four silver and one bronze, then the Aleppo Police with two golds, while the Central Police came first in the over-18 category with five gold, two silver and two bronze, followed by the Aleppo Police with two gold, three silver and four Bronzes, then Jaramana with two golds, two silvers and two bronzes.
The head of the Karate Federation, Jihad Mahmoud Mia, explained in a statement to SANA that this tournament is one of the most important internal activities of the federation, as it included many hero players who are relied upon in achieving external achievements in the future, pointing out that the federation will select a group of distinguished players to be the nucleus of the team in Asian forums. Especially as we are about to participate in the West Asian Championship in the United Arab Emirates next month.
Chairman of the Competitions Committee in the Federation, Ali Issa, indicated in a similar statement that double efforts were made by the cadres of the Federation to implement all the conditions of the International Federation in organizing world championships to graduate this tournament in an optimal organizational, administrative and technical manner, which made it resemble a global festival in all respects.
Referee Ali Mustafa said: The level of arbitration was good, despite the presence of some simple mistakes that did not affect the results of the fights, pointing to the presence of more than fifty referees and wisdom participants in the tournament, all of whom have competence, professionalism and integrity.
A number of players pointed to the strength of competition in the tournament, which provided the required friction, which contributes to increasing experience by identifying new skills, expressing their readiness to compete in the tournaments that the Federation will hold during the coming period.
On the sidelines of the tournament, a classification course for referees was held under the supervision of the referees committee in the Syrian Arab Federation for the game, at the end of which the successful winners received arbitration certificates in the game.
At the end of the tournament, the top three winners of each weight were crowned with various medals and certificates of appreciation.
