Dr. Haifa Juma'a, a member of the People's Assembly, Vice-Chairman of the Syrian-Iranian Friendship Committee in the parliament, and her accompanying delegation discussed with Abbas Kelro, Vice-President of the Iranian-Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Association in Tehran today, ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including the parliamentarian.
During the talks, which were held at the headquarters of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Dr. Gomaa confirmed the existence of many areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially scientific, economic, energy and oil, pointing out that she and members of parliaments of the two countries seek to strengthen strategic relations based on mutual respect in various fields.
She pointed to the importance of transferring Iranian scientific experiences and expertise to the Syrian side, investing them in the scientific and productive sectors, and linking them to research centers in universities, which will reflect positively on the productive reality based on science, knowledge and modern technology.
Dr. Gomaa and the accompanying delegation were briefed during her touring in the Iranian Innovation House exhibition on the latest scientific, knowledge and technological productions and scientific research in various agricultural, industrial, medical, therapeutic and productive fields, and the Iranian experiences, and ways to benefit from them in the wheel of development, modernization and construction in Syria.
The deputy head of the Syrian-Iranian Friendship Committee also drew attention to the importance of cooperation and coordination in the media field between the two sides.
For his part, Kelro affirmed Iran's full readiness to cooperate with the Syrian side in various fields, especially parliament, adding: We are working in the Shura Council to develop economic relations and activate and implement the agreements signed between the two sides.
The members of the Syrian-Iranian Friendship Committee present from both sides also spoke and put forward their views on the areas of joint cooperation in various fields.
During the talks, the Iranian side expressed its readiness to cooperate with the Syrian side and to transfer expertise.
