The Likud this evening (Monday) appealed to the Central Election Committee with a request to pre-approve the use of two versions of ballots, this following the printing of the wrong ballots, which was first exposed in Vala.
In a letter written by the representative of the Likud on the election committee, attorney Ilan Bombach, to the chairman of the committee, Judge Yitzhak Amit, he asked to issue an order approving the use of an incorrect note that the Likud printed and distributed last week, which does not include the full inscription "The Likud under the leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu for the Prime Ministership" under the letters
"There is a real concern that many ballots bearing a nickname that is not the nickname that appears in the wording approved by the Election Commission will reach the voters of the list and be chained to the ballot boxes," Bombach wrote in the letter.
These are notes that field activists and branch heads hand out to activists in advance, in order for them to arrive with a ballot from home, not the official notes found in the polling stations and printed by the Central Election Committee.

As published today in Vala, last week the Likud campaign discovered that 5.5 million Mahl notes were printed and distributed to branches and activists with incorrect and missing inscriptions.
The wording approved by the Central Election Committee is "Likud under the leadership of Binyamin Netanyahu for Prime Minister", while Likud printed notes without the inscription "For Prime Minister".
Yesterday, the Likud discovered that the second lot of the ballots was also printed with a mistake in Netanyahu's name and under the black letters it was written "The Likud under the leadership of Binyamin Netanya for Prime Minister".
The party was ordered to collect these ballots quickly and reprint ballots without mistakes.
At the same time, an appeal was made to the Central Election Commission to approve the use of the first incorrect ballot.
Senior officials in the party told Walla that it was a mistake by the campaigners, however, Bombach's letter shows that Likud mistakenly blames their political opponents, without naming an explicit party.
"The Likud's election headquarters suspects that this is a malicious attempt to sabotage the party by its opponents," Bombach wrote.
"And he is going to investigate its origins and ramifications, and he also intends to file a complaint with the police."
