The group stage of the Champions League 2022-2023 has gone by in a jiffy.
In just under two months (it began on September 6), five days were played and this week the sixth and last will take place.
As expected at this stage of the tournament, there are already several teams qualified for the round of 16.
Specifically, 12 clubs have made it to the European top 16 stage: Napoli, Liverpool, Club Brugge, Porto, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Benfica.

So, what is at stake on the final day of the Champions League groups?
The last four places in the round of 16 will be up for grabs in the matches this Tuesday and Wednesday.
In reality, there are few teams that are going to compete for these places, since others have already been eliminated since last day, as is the case with Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Ajax or Juventus.
Group D is the only one in the competition that is still completely open.
The four clubs that make it up maintain their chances to qualify for the round of 16: Tottenham has 8 points and plays its final group match against Olympique de Marseille, a team that has 6 units;
meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon accumulates 7 points and will play matchday six against Eintracht Frankfurt, which also has 7 units.

What's next after the Champions group stage?
The group stage of the 2022/2023 Champions League was played quickly due to the World Cup in Qatar, which begins next Sunday, November 20.
After the end of the sixth day, we will see the draw for the round of 16 phase on Monday, November 7, where the crosses of the 16 best will be defined.
After that, through the Qatar World Cup, there will be a long break from the Champions League, with the activity returning until February 2023.
