Since the announcement by Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin of the need to cancel or postpone all major cultural or sporting events to the summer of 2024, due to the massive mobilization of law enforcement around the Olympic Games, Culture Minister Rima Abdul-Malak is trying to put the pieces back together and reassure organizers and producers.
On Wednesday, about twenty of them whose festivals bring together more than 100,000 festival-goers - including the Interceltique de Lorient, Visa pour l'image in Perpignan, the Rencontres d'Arles, the festivals of Avignon, Aurillac or Nîmes - were received at the Ministry, with the professional representatives, Prodiss, Profedim, Syndeac and the SMA.
Officially, it was a question of finding with them a point of balance between the necessary security and the survival of festivals and concert tours.
