The activities of the 27th University Theater Festival organized by the National Union of Syrian Students concluded this evening on the stage of the Culture Palace in Homs, with the participation of theater groups from the universities and institutes of Al-Baath, Tishreen, Aleppo, Hama, Daraa and As-Suwayda.
The Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs, Dr. Elias Boutros, considered that the festival brought together Syrian students who love theater to express their aspirations and wishes and exchange experiences and knowledge, pointing out that the university theater was and still is the mirror that reflects the reality of society, in addition to its great role in shaping the students’ personality and developing their sense and awareness. community problems to work on.
In turn, member of the Executive Office and Head of the Culture and Arts Office at the National Union of Syrian Students Omar Al-Jabai said: Through a week-long trip, we saw beautiful creations and interesting and purposeful student theatrical performances that reflect the awareness of the youth segment, where feelings of joy, sadness and ambition for a better future were mixed, and they imitated reality in all its details.
In the jury's speech, the artist Qassem Malho explained the importance of the festival, which produced many promising student talents through their seriousness in promoting university theater and bringing it to a distinguished position.
After that, certificates were distributed to the participating teams, and the results of the jury were announced, with the Lattakia Institutes winning the best show, followed by the Al-Baath University team in second place.
The award for best director came equally to directors Walid al-Aqil from Suwayda and Hikmat al-Akkad from Aleppo University.
