The farmers of Al-Hasakah Governorate finished harvesting the cotton crop for the current season, as the estimated production quantities, according to the Directorate of Agriculture in the governorate, amounted to 18025 tons.

The head of the plant production department in the directorate, Eng. Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the entire harvested area planted with the cotton crop for the current season amounted to 5910 hectares out of the total planned area, which amounts to 6754 hectares, distributed in various agricultural settlement areas that have stable water resources, especially in the two regions. Engineer Bilal pointed out that the farmers, who had finished picking the cotton crop, began cultivating their lands and preparing them for planting with wheat and barley crops, which will start during the second half of this month for the various areas of agricultural stability.
