Under the weight of the war in Ukraine, the two main pillars of the German economic model have collapsed: the assurance of cheap gas thanks to Russia and the belief that we can always depend on American security.
Germany understands today that it made two bad choices, in areas as crucial as those of energy and defence.
Its leaders, who thought that globalization appeased mores, that trade normalized the most difficult regimes and that the economy was superior to politics, fell from above.
Here they are forced to abruptly leave the world of the Care Bears in which they have delighted since the end of the cold war and to change their model.
