Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov revealed that the United States continues to implement highly dangerous biological projects abroad, and operates more than 50 laboratories near the border with Russia.
Antonov said in an interview with the American newspaper Newsweek: “Washington and Kiev have not disclosed their suspicious projects that have been implemented since 2016 under the codenames “UB4”, “Fly Fly Away” and “B781” even in the annual reports under the arms agreement. Biological and toxin,” explaining that such behavior confirms the fact that the United States and Ukraine have something to hide.
Antonov demanded answers from the United States about biological research funded by the Pentagon in Ukraine and other countries, pointing out that these sites do not meet international obligations.
“The risks posed by biological agents, including falling into the wrong hands or a leak from the laboratory, are on par with nuclear and chemical proliferation,” Antonov said, noting that rapid scientific and technological progress increases the risk inherent in dual-use research.
In this context, Antonov pointed out that sensitive information about experiments aimed at creating more dangerous hybrid strains may be the target of cyber attacks, not to mention the fact that no one is safe from human error or the unintended release of infectious pathogens into the environment.
