That would have almost caught the eye: A 48-year-old driver lost his driver's license because he not only ignored a red traffic light, but almost ran over three pedestrians.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Right before the eyes of the border police's veil investigators, a scene took place on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. that could cost a 48-year-old Farchanter his driver's license for a long time.
Because the man not only disregarded the red light on Burgstrasse near the elementary school, he almost hit three pedestrians.
The problem: Some vehicles were already waiting at the traffic lights on the outskirts of town.
The man who came from behind in a minibus wanted to get past the line, swerved to the left and apparently overlooked the red light – and also the pedestrians.
These were able to dodge with the presence of mind, and the driver also pulled to the left to avoid the collision.
But he immediately fled.
Why?
The officers who were chasing him found that out when they checked him out.
More than 1.1 per thousand alcohol were involved.
The driver's license is gone, a hefty fine will follow.
