These are the charges facing Paul Pelosi's alleged attacker 5:02
(CNN) --
US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke publicly on camera for the first time Friday about the attack on her husband, Paul, and his ongoing recovery, saying she "It's going to be a long ride, but it'll be fine."
“Paul got home yesterday.
That allows me to be at home with all of you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words, your prayers, and your well wishes to Paul,” he said in the video.
“It's going to be a long ride, but he'll be fine.
And it's so tragic how it happened, but nonetheless, we have to be optimistic.
He's surrounded by family, so that's a wonderful thing."
Pelosi's team tweeted the video and posted it on YouTube.
