The cultivated area of ​​various types of winter vegetables for the current agricultural season in Al-Hasakah Governorate reached 4,334 hectares distributed in various areas of agricultural stability.

The head of the plant production department in the directorate, Eng. Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the area implemented by the governorate’s farmers slightly exceeded what was planned according to the district’s plan, which amounted to 4,200 hectares, with the aim of securing the various types of vegetables grown in the governorate, which includes 13 A category of foodstuffs, indicating that the production of these materials will start during the next month, and they will be marketed directly in the governorate's markets.

Engineer Bilal pointed out that the areas planted with winter vegetables were concentrated in the first and second agricultural stability areas, especially the rural areas of the cities of Hasaka, Qamishli, Amuda and Al-Malikiyah, the areas where the source of water from wells is available, and the lands located near surface dams.

The Directorate of Agriculture had set a plan last year for the areas planted with winter vegetables at about 4,020 hectares distributed over the various areas of agricultural stability.
