Ile-de-France: car thieves targeted SUVs to send them to Africa

They are among the most stolen cars in France.

Since Monday, a team of eight alleged criminals, suspected of having stolen around fifty Peugeot 3008 and 5008 and DS7 SUVs between June and October 2020, has appeared before the criminal court of Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne).

Three minors were also tried in this case.

Two were sentenced to 11 months in prison and 12 months suspended.

The third was released.

The defendants stole cars in the Val-de-Marne, where most are from, the Hauts-de-Seine with a predilection for Antony and Sceaux, in Essonne and in the Yvelines.
