It annoys some, but others are happy about it: birdsong.

It is reminiscent of warm spring days.

Something that you can use well in the cold season.

Even researchers know that.

Warbling, singing or chirping: when birds make their noises, nature suddenly doesn't seem so quiet anymore.

On the contrary.

Some sounds and melodies have a very harmonious effect and form a sound that is not only associated with the green, but also with beautiful images.

Birdsong is often associated with warm spring days and good spirits, something we often lack on cold, wet autumn days.

While the former quickly lifts our spirits, the latter can be devastating for some.

The so-called "autumn blues" then has one or the other under control.

But not all birds are (yet) getting ready to spend the winter south.

Some are still around and many a garden lover even bothers to lure them into their native greenery.

The idea is good, according to a new study.

Researchers from London's King's College have found that just hearing birdsong is enough to banish autumn blues or gloomy thoughts.

To do this, they equipped 1,300 test persons with a newly developed smartphone app called "Urban Mind".

With their help they should classify the daily birdsong to which they were exposed.

Plants and trees are also needed to have a healthy population of birds.

We need to nurture the whole ecosystem within our cities," he told
