"The world has no future": climate protests at universities
According to a spokesman for the university in Regensburg, the university management wants to meet with the activists for a discussion.
The international appeal for the university protests says: "We should sit in the university and pretend that everything is okay.
But the world we are supposed to learn for has no future."
It is no coincidence that the protests are taking place at the same time as the UN climate conference in Egypt.
In a statement, a student at the University of Regensburg said: "Governments are powerless in the face of profit interests and multinational corporations.
New, strong and democratic solutions are needed.
Where should we develop them if not in schools and universities?”
