The five new start-ups hosted by the Toulouse incubator dedicated to the lunar economy, TechTheMoon, are developing innovative projects

Created in 2021 by the Nubbo incubator and the CNES in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), TechTheMoon is the first incubator dedicated exclusively to the lunar economy.

He has just unveiled the five new projects selected for his second promotion, selected from fifteen applications.

These start-ups, which will benefit from support for twelve months to develop the terrestrial deployment of their project, offer innovative solutions to the many requirements of a human installation on the Moon, envisaged by 2030.

“We are very satisfied with the quality of the projects selected, assures Anne-Laure Charbonnier, Managing Director of Nubbo.

In their desire to prepare and facilitate the prolonged presence of men and women on the Moon, they also have the advantage of being complementary.

This new promotion from TechTheMoon helps bring us a little closer to our objectives: to develop ambitious companies, with unique know-how, whose solutions can be deployed on Earth as well as on the Moon”.

Foods with high nutritional value

The companies selected have chosen to concentrate their efforts in the fields of training, preparation in virtual reality, monitoring of human factors, energy and food.

The Neopouss company wants, for example, to facilitate the transport of micro-shoots, food with a high nutrient concentration, by a dehydration process allowing all the nutrients of the plant to be preserved.

This process will make it possible to multiply the uses of microgreens in the health, sports, well-being and gastronomy sectors.

For lunar missions, it is the possibility of having quality natural food, strong in flavor and rich in nutrients, with a very extended shelf life.

Augmented virtual reality

VR2Planets, another young shoot selected, aims to revolutionize virtual reality by going beyond its limits, most applications being dedicated to entertainment or simple professional uses.

The company wants to enable its users to carry out complex technical operations in immersive collaboration, via a network interface mixing the latest technologies in image data processing, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality.

Thanks to the images acquired by astronauts operating on the Moon, VR2Planets will be able to generate a 3D model of their environment, share it between remote users, in orbit and on Earth, and create a virtual environment in which everyone can collaborate in virtual reality. .

Astronauts will be able to view operational information (distances, objectives, remote user avatars, etc.) directly on their augmented reality visualization interface.
