The newspaper reported that the witness to the attack was a convoy that tried to smuggle Iranian weapons to Syria and from there to Lebanon • A Lebanese network accused Israel of being responsible for the attack

During an Israeli attack in eastern Syria, which was carried out around midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, at least 10 people were killed.

This was reported this evening (Wednesday) in the Washington Post.

According to the report from the Washington Post, the suspicion was that there was an attempt to smuggle Iranian weapons to Syria and from there apparently to Lebanon.

It was also reported that several vehicles were destroyed and several Iranians were killed among the ten dead.

At the same time, a Lebanese network claimed that Israel was behind the operation, while an American source indicated that it was not the US military.

The Iraqi Telegram channel affiliated with Iran reported that it was an attack aimed at targets belonging to the Shiite militias in the vicinity of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.

This is also claimed in unofficial Syrian media.

The director of the Syrian Center for Human Rights, which is affiliated with the opposition to the Assad regime and resides in Britain, commented on the drone attack in eastern Syria on Wednesday. According to the director of the center, "the Americans denied it, but the Iranians know that the convoy belongs to them and was headed for Lebanon."

He added that "the Iraqi government knows that the convoy came from Iran to Syria and that it was carrying oil. There are 14 dead in this attack. There were weapons in some of the trucks' loads and oil in other loads. The trucks entered through an official crossing of the Iraq-Syria border that is overseen by the umbrella organization of the Shiite militias In Iraq, Al-Shaabi suspects, the Iranians and those who work with them."

According to him, the area is considered to be the place where the US international coalition operates, so his assessment is that US aircraft are behind the attack.

As mentioned earlier, sources told the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network that Israel was behind the drone attack. According to the report, the drones attacked two tankers and there may be dead and wounded.

At the same time, the BBC reporter stated that the attack was indeed carried out, but an American official denied that they were behind the claim.
