On video: Yair Lapid's statement (Walla system!)
The outgoing Prime Minister and designated head of the opposition Yair Lapid today (Friday) called a first meeting of the heads of the future opposition parties.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday - before the swearing-in of the Knesset, and all the heads of the opposition parties have been invited to it, except Hadash-Ta'al, which was not a member of the outgoing coalition.
Lapid invited the chairman of the State Camp Party, Benny Gantz, the chairman of the Yisrael Beytenu Party, Avigdor Lieberman, the chairman of the Labor Party, Merav Michaeli, and the chairman of the Ra'am Party, Mansor Abbas - and they all accepted the invitation. This is the first time that The parties of change will meet since the elections and they will meet in the background of an exchange of accusations in the center-left bloc for the loss in the results.
"You have to plan ahead."

Only 28 members of the opposition recommended Lapid as their candidate for prime minister in the round of recommendations to President Yitzhak Herzog this week.
The parties of the state camp, Yisrael Beiteno, and Ra'am did not recommend any candidate on their behalf. Lapid yesterday called on the opposition parties to join forces in the fight against the passage of the increase. His office stated that the purpose of the meeting was to "plan and think together how to manage the opposition."
