The National Cancer Screening Campaign in Hama Governorate provided 31,000 screening services for three types of breast, cervical and prostate cancer, and the free examinations were for about 25,000 women and 11,300 men.
And the National Cancer Control Program quoted on its official Facebook page, Dr. Bashar Bakour, Head of the Reproductive Health Division in the Hama Health Directorate, as saying: The campaign achieved its goals in the governorate, including reaching citizens in rural areas, who were primarily targeted, noting that despite the concerns of The people daily, especially during the olive harvest season, but they participated in the campaign to check on their health, especially with the availability of free transportation that transported them from their gathering centers to the medical clinics and vice versa.
Dr. Bakour pointed out that all the parties participating in the campaign made great efforts to overcome difficulties and obstacles, to ensure the success of this great health event that contributes to controlling cancer in Syria.
According to reports issued by the Hama Health Directorate, the number of tests in a large number of areas exceeded the target numbers, with rates exceeding 100 percent.
It is noteworthy that the specialized medical staff in public hospitals in Hama governorate follow up on suspected cases, carry out the necessary medical interventions, and collect data for the beneficiaries of the national campaign to investigate cancer.
