(CNN Spanish) --

Tata Martino already has his list for the World Cup: the coach presented Mexico's squad for Qatar 2022.

On the list there are Liga MX champions with Pachuca, such as Kevin Álvarez and Luis Chávez.

Los Rayados de Monterry is the team with the most players called up: César Montes, Héctor Moreno, Jesús Gallardo, Luis Romo and Rogelio Funes Mori.

Ten of the players who were in Russia 2018 repeat in Qatar 2022.

There are notable discards, like that of Santiago Giménez, scorer of Feyenoord.

Nor will Diego Lainez, a midfielder for Braga from Portugal, be there.

The absence of veterans Chicharito Hernández and Carlos Vela was already known, as well as Tecatito Corona due to injury.

Mexico's senior men's team has played 16 world cups in history and, in Qatar 2022, it is going for its 17th FIFA World Cup and for a better participation than in previous editions.

In the last World Cup tournaments, the Mexican team has not been able to reach the quarterfinals, the famous "fifth game".

This year, the Mexican team, which is led by Argentine Gerardo "Tata" Martino, will try to get to that fifth game, but to do so they need to go through a difficult path: go first or second in their group, C, which it shares with Argentina, Poland and Saudi Arabia;

and then win their round of 16 match, which would be against the first or second place in group D (where France, Australia, Denmark and Tunisia are).

Mexico arrives at the World Cup in the 13th position of the FIFA ranking.
