Among the scholars selected from the two universities, four are members of the anti-epidemic expert advisory group, including Yuen Guoyong, Leung Cheuk-wai and Kong Fanyi of the University of Hong Kong, and Xu Shuchang of the Chinese University of China. Among them, Yuan Guoyong was selected into two academic fields at the same time, namely immunology and microbiology.

As for the former president of CUHK, Joseph Sung, and the head of the Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine, Mok Shu-jin, were also selected.


Scholars on the list rank among the top 1% of the world's cited articles

Clarivate Analytics announced today that a total of 6,938 scholars from 69 countries and regions have been selected for the 2022 list of "World's Most Widely Cited Researchers".

If scholars who have won awards in more than one academic field are included, the number of this year's participants will reach 7,225.

The selected scholars are all top researchers in the world with outstanding academic performance, including that in the past 10 years, a number of academic works have produced significant and extensive influence in their respective disciplines, ranking first in the world's most cited articles1 %.

38 HKU scholars ranked 26th in the world

The University of Hong Kong announced tonight that a total of 38 scholars were selected from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management, and Faculty of Science, ranking 26th among all universities and scientific research institutions around the world.

According to the data, 31 scholars were selected from the University of Hong Kong last year, that is to say, there will be 7 more scholars this year.

11 CUHK Scholars Selected as Xu Shuchang, Sung Cho-yao, Mo Shujin

CUHK announced tonight that a total of 11 scholars have been selected, from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science.

After checking the list, Xu Shuchang, a government expert consultant and chair professor of the Respiratory Department of the Department of Internal Medicine and Therapeutics of the Faculty of Medicine of CUHK, was selected for cross-field; Joseph Sung, former president of CUHK and emeritus chair professor of the Faculty of Medicine, was also selected for clinical medicine; Department of Internal Medicine and Pharmacy of the Faculty of Medicine Shujin Mok, Professor of Therapeutics and Croucher Professor of Medical Sciences, was selected for Clinical Medicine.

26 CityU scholars ranked 50th in the world

CityU announced tonight that a total of 26 scholars have been selected, ranking 50th in the world.

CityU also stated that its number of teaching and research personnel is relatively small compared with other universities, which means that the proportion of top scientists is very high, which is extremely prominent among global universities and ranks among the best in Asia, reflecting the high academic level and outstanding research achievements of its scientific research team.
