In celebration of the Tishreen holidays, the Directorate of Culture in Damascus organized a heritage symposium titled “Tishreen and Syrian Heritage, Identity and Authenticity,” at the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Adawi.
Dr. Naglaa Al-Khadra, a researcher in heritage, participated in the symposium and was presented by journalist Mukhles Al-Mahmoud, who talked about the achievements of the Corrective Movement and its close connection with the October Liberation War. He also linked the victories of the Syrian Arab Army in the past and its victories to the present in its war on terrorism.
Dr. Al-Khadhra explained that the corrective movement paid great attention to the revival of Arab and Islamic heritage, as it established the Directorate for the Revival of Arab Heritage and published dozens of heritage books of various subjects, in addition to training a number of graduate students in the principles of checking and cataloging manuscripts. The Ministry of Culture and the Scientific Heritage Institute in Aleppo also did The Ministry of Information and Awqaf publishes hundreds of important heritage books.
And she indicated that the Ministry of Culture concluded more than fifty cultural agreements and issued books, in addition to activating the role of the magazines it publishes. The Ministry's interest in theatrical and cinematic movement increased, and the number of theater groups increased, which provided the artistic movement with new generations of actors who contributed to the development of Syrian drama.
The symposium concluded with interventions from the audience about the achievements of the corrective movement in several cultural and societal aspects.
