Deputy Aurélien Pradié, candidate for the presidency of the Republicans (LR), advocates, in an interview with Echoes published on Tuesday, a universal income tax as well as a
“single social allowance”
, an idea also defended by his competitor Bruno Retailleau.
“I propose that every Frenchman pay income tax.
To allow this, we will have to merge all social allowances into a single social allowance lower than income from work
, ”said Aurélien Pradié at Les Échos.
“Anyone who receives a social minimum should be able to pay even a few euros in income tax. It is not a punishment, but the symbolic, political and social basis of a new fiscal pact”
, developed the deputy of Lot.
“The multitude of social allowances can create suspicion among our fellow citizens who pay the tax.
I want us to have, thanks to taxation, a lever of individual and collective responsibility
, ”added Aurélien Pradié, competitor of Éric Ciotti and Bruno Retailleau for the presidency of LR.

Bruno Retailleau, for his part, wants the merger of social minima into a single social allowance
“capped at 75% of the minimum wage to assume the gap between income from work and assistance”
.
Aurélien Pradié also deemed it
"properly irresponsible
" to
"summarize our migration policy to the sole economic question"
, in response to the so-called
"jobs in tension"
residence permit that the government wishes to create.
“These occupations in tension must be filled in priority by our fellow citizens
”, judged the deputy.
Vote in early December for the presidency of LR
Asked about the end of the rebate on gasoline, born of a compromise between the majority and LR, he believes that
“the policy of checks does not make the French happy”
and
“does not generate purchasing power”
.
“We have to get out of it as soon as possible and make sustainable choices: massively tax-free fuels and regain our energy sovereignty”
.
All party members are called to vote on December 3 and 4 and, if necessary, the following week for a second round to appoint Christian Jacob's successor.
The three candidates will debate on LCI on November 21.
