What happened ?
Two missiles reportedly fell on a town in Poland, on the border with Ukraine, several local Polish media reported.
The government announced that it would hold an emergency meeting of the National Security Council, "following the current crisis situation", without giving any further details.
What happened ?
According to RadioZet, the missiles fell on the town of Przewodów, located a few kilometers from the border with Ukraine, where Russia carried out numerous strikes on Tuesday – around 100, according to kyiv.
According to this Polish media, which had this information “unofficially”, they would have hit an agricultural building, killing two people.
A spokesman for the US Department, for his part, said that the Pentagon was "examining" this information, without being able to "confirm" it.
"We are looking at them further," he added.
For his part, Hungarian President Viktor Orban has convened a Defense Council, after what are described by the Hungarian authorities as "strikes" on Poland.
What does Russia say?
In a message posted on Telegram, around 8:50 p.m., the Russian Ministry of Defense denied that these missiles were its own, denouncing a “provocation”.
"No strikes on targets near the Ukraine-Poland border were carried out by Russian means of destruction," he wrote.
And to specify, in this same message, based on photos published by Polish media and on social networks: “The images of fragments published (…) have nothing to do with Russian weapons.

What possible consequences?
Poland is a member of NATO and some 10,000 American soldiers are in the country.
This potential strike raises many questions and its consequences could be significant.
Article 5 of the Atlantic Alliance Treaty indeed stipulates that if a Member State is the victim of an armed attack, the others will consider this act of violence as directed against all the members and will take the measures deemed necessary to come in aid of the attacked country.
